I think we need more whale sculptures and fewer snowmen! My life in Ireland was full of memorable aunts and uncles, all characters and all loved tremendously by us kids.
I particularly liked the lines:
“the chickadee beside
the redpoll at our feeder—one with a map for staying, the other leaves tomorrow for the tundra.”
A beautiful visual image and also a metaphor for all that we don’t know about our nearest companions, their lives and destinations.

The Whales’ Tails were all lit up with Christmas lights this past December. Quite an image on the highway!
